DR. FRANCISCO GALLEGOS  |  Cardiology


Dr. Francisco Gallegos has great experience in the Specialty of Internal Medicine with sub specialty in Cardiology. During his 29 years as Internist, he has successfully practiced private medicine in hospitals such as Hospital Angeles Torreón, besides working for important national companies.

Former Chief of the Internal Medicine Department of Hospital de Especialidades No. 71 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Torreón, Coahuila, he supervised services of cardiology, intensive therapy and hematology. Following this, he was Head of the Division of Cardio-Pneumology at the same hospital, in which he oversaw services of cardiovascular cardiology, angiology and intensive coronary care, until his retirement in 2011. 

Dr. Gallegos works with Obesity Care Group to evaluate and assure that all of our severely obese patients are in excellent condition for the surgery, who should be treated with special care since they present important related conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. 


Teaching and Working Experience 

  • 29 years of experience in Internal Medicine with sub specialty in Cardiology.
  • Experience in the treatment of obese patients and their morbidities.
  • Chief of the Clinical Department of Internal Medicine No. 71 of IMSS until 1996, preceded by the charge of Chief of the Division of Cardio-Pneumology for 14 years.
  • Invited teacher and assistant teacher for numerous symposiums and training courses organized by different institutions such as IMSS, Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (UAC), the Internal Medicine Association in La Laguna and the Internal Medicine Association of Mexico.

  • Health Management Diploma Course by the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM).
